4 Things That Every Girl Who Works From Home Should Have

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you might know that I’m a girl who works from home. I have recently been thinking a lot about how I can improve my experience working from home, such as designing a fantastic home office. Up until recently, I was working with my laptop on my lap or setting up shop in a cafe (or a hotel room), which is a far from an ideal way to work.

If you want to give this work from home thing a go, you’ve got to focus on organisation. The organisation is always key, but when you work from home it’s absolutely crucial. When you work from home, and you don’t have a boss telling you what to do, it becomes your sole responsibility to ensure that you always stay on track and get your tasks done.

It can sometimes be hard to stay on track and remain motivated, as there are so many things to distract you. That being said, there are plenty of ways that you can make it easier for yourself. I’ve got 4 little tips that can get you on the road to making this work from home thing easy peasy.

Organiser

As someone who works from home, I know just how important it is to ensure that I am always as organised as possible. If I didn’t have my trusty organiser to rely on, I would honestly be lost.

If you want to ensure that you keep on top of everything that you need to do, having an organiser is a real must. As well as using your organiser to keep on top of deadlines, you can also use it to keep on top of your to-do list. I’m still working on the art of managing my planner and am currently on the search to find a more organised way to keep it all contained.

There are lots of organisers on the market, but the one that I currently have my eye on is Passion Planner. I love how it has different sections for everything.

Works From Home: Watch

If you work at home, having a watch is a real must. It’s too easy to get distracted when using your smartphone. When I wear a watch, all I have to do is glance at my wrist, and that’s it. No distractions, just a quick and easy way to find out the time. There are lots of watch specialists to choose from, but I’ve recently discovered Shinola watches. I reckon that one of their lovely watches will be making an appearance on my Christmas wishlist!

Works from Home: Tablet

In order to work from home, you must have a laptop or computer of some kind. But I also think that having a tablet is a must. Firstly, having a tablet is great, as it allows you to multi-task. You can use your computer can serve one purpose while using your tablet can fulfil another. Plus, if your computer was to break – a nightmare for anyone who works from home, your tablet could pick up some of the slack.

With all the different apps on the market, tablets can be used for almost as much as computers and laptops. Whether you need to send emails, create documents, write blog posts, among other things, as they say – “there’s an app for that”.

Pinboard

If you are lucky enough to have a home office, having a pinboard in it is a must. You can use this to pin up any important notes or documents so that you don’t forget about them. It’s easy to forget things when you have lots going on. But keeping it old school by having a pinboard can help you to ensure that nothing important ever gets forgotten.

Working from home can be a very satisfying endeavour, but as I’ve said before, organisation is key. There are many more tips that can help you ensure that your work from home experience is a productive one. But if you heed my advice and begin with these 4 easy tips, you’re bound to be on the right track!

Are you a girls who works from home? What are your thoughts?
