Just make yourself comfortable for my lesson in comfort!
It’s a saying you’ve all heard at least once in your life. You’ve accepted it gladly and probably proceeded to sit on the sofa or to take your coat off – depending on the situation. However, the notion of comfort is a little more complex than finding a nice chair to sit on. Comfort, you see, has more than one definition, and all of them matter in everyday life. Whether it relates to your mobility, your sense of peacefulness, your basic needs, or even your happiness, comfort is what gives a sense to your life. A life without any comfort is not a life worth living.
Lesson in Comfort: Comfort Is Being Able To Go Everywhere
It may seem odd to define a lesson in comfort as the ability to keep your mobility. But if you think about it, being in a position to experience the world and to interact with your surroundings is essential to your mental health. Imagine the visitor in a wheelchair who is stuck at the entrance of a museum, because he or she can’t go past the steps. It is a breach to the mobile comfort of the individual.
Additionally, if you are going out with your family or friends, but suffer from a condition that limits your mobility – asthma, chronic joint pain, etc. – you are probably pleased to consider a mobility scooter hire. Indeed, being able to go where you want to is key to your experience of the world. While that doesn’t include getting plane tickets for free, it’s fair to say that the comfort of mobility lets you enjoy your freedom of movement.
Lesson in Comfort: Comfort Is Feeling Relaxed Where You Are
Feeling at peace is another form of comfort: it’s about the comfort of your mind. You can never stop life from throwing lemons at you, but you can certainly create an environment where you feel safe and comfortable. Your home is your sanctuary.
As a result, creating a peaceful décor with the marriage of scents, colours and textures has a positive impact on your mind. Indeed, the combination of certain decorative sensations is relaxing. Earth colours, for example, are peaceful for the mind.
Comfort Is Having Everything You Need To Survive
Having everything you need for your survival is the very basic definition of comfort. In other words, it means having sufficient food and being able to stay warm and protected from the weather. These relatively easy demands can become almost impossible in long-term power cuts. A hurricane, a snowstorm or even a flood can isolate your house. Your comfort is your survival. Focus on the basic needs of everyone and get prepared if you live in a danger zone.
Comfort Is Being Happy In Your Skin
Being comfortable in your skin is a difficult task that requires acceptance, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Not everybody likes what they see in the mirror. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t impossible. Enjoying life is about learning to accept who you are; embrace your flaws and value your qualities. For many, this is still a challenge. The result of not feeling at ease with yourself tends to manifest itself as depression. A life in depression is a life in a dark place. For many, it isn’t a life at all. But finding the way out of self-loathing has never been that difficult.
Any thought on this lesson in comfort?!
