Any parents worst nightmare – needing to go to work or pop out for an urgent matter at the last minute. If you have no one to rely on for those emergency childcare sessions then you know it’s a feeling that is overwhelming. We’ve partnered up with Childcare.co.uk who have asked me to pop on over to the site and give you guys my thoughts and write a review on it. If you want to know what to expect before delving in and trying to find last-minute childcare continue reading. As always, all thoughts are my own and have not been influenced in any way. Let’s delve into this childcare.co.uk review and see what to expect when you need to book.

Childcare.co.uk website at a glance
Whether you log on to the site from a desktop or a mobile device the first thing that I looked for was the ease of use. Which both formats offer. I was quite impressed with the fact that you can select more than just a childminder! The selection offered is quite impressive – you can look for babysitters, private tutors, maternity nurses, and more. But the best part is that there’s a section for keyworkers!
I’m not a key worker, but there are so many of you out there that are. Key workers are so crucial for our day to day lives and that couldn’t ring more true to in the times we are living through now with Covid-19. The fact that there is availability for key workers to find childcare and for NHS workers, too, is absolutely brilliant!
Once you select the type of service you require you’ll enter your postcode and see what’s available in your area.

Once you have selected the proper parameters you can see your search results just like you would on a search engine search page. The site is really well organised, and I like that you can see, at a glance, a photo of the childminder, their hourly rate, their star rating, and a quick bio.
After you decide on a profile you can view it in it’s entirety by going to “see profile”. You’ll then be able to see more details about the provider such as when they last updated their profile, their social media channels, and how long it takes them to respond to messages on the platform.
I like that things are quite succinct and available at a glance. This is especially important if you’re on the hunt to find last-minute childcare options or last-minute babysitters.

Details and more details
While it’s good to have all those important details at a glance I really like being able to see a more in-depth detailed summary of what this person can provide in terms of care. Sometimes you need overnight care, weekend babysitters, or even care for infants – and since not everyone can provide that it’s good to see that you don’t have to spend so much time sifting through profiles to get what you need. The summary feature is really useful.
You can see their qualifications, availability, and even an at a glance table for those of you who, like me, are more visual and need something quick to glance at.

As you continue scrolling you will also see the documents that the provider has uploaded to the site. Such as their First Aid certificates, Ofsted certificates, and more depending on what they have uploaded and been certified with.
You can also see the reviews that have been left to give you more of an idea as to whether or not this person is someone you feel you can be a good match with.

Sign up is simple
Signing up for the site is actually really simple. You can create a free account by following some simple instructions to sign up with your email address or continue the registration process by using your Facebook account.

If you’re trying to find last-minute childcare then I completely recommend signing up for a free account. Whether you’re a key worker or just a busy parent and need to find someone to help with the kids then this is a brilliant option. And don’t forget – if you need to find nursers, midwives, or even offer your own services as a childcare provider this is the site for you!
