I am fairly certain that when the name Dyson comes to mind you think of a vacuum cleaner, or even a quite interesting looking fan/heater. I can almost bet that you have never thought that a Dyson product could one day be in your beauty kit.
Well, that’s about to change.
I’m always interested in how and when technology and the beauty industry meet, which is why I was blown away (no pun intended) when Dyson unveiled their newest project – the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.
The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer was unveiled at a launch event in Tokyo today, where it will go on sale first, as it is said that 96% of the population own a hair dryer.
Their intelligent heat control feature helps ensure that your hair won’t dry out and lose its shine. While the fast flow of air ensures that drying your hair won’t be such a chore, and promises to not take as long as it does with conventional hair dryers.
Add to that magnetic attachments, and you have a very intriguing design.
So, what really makes this hair dryer so different?
The motor. Which Dyson boasts is up to 8 times small than your conventional hair dryer motor, and apparently half the weight. The motor is actually encased within the handle of the Dyson hair dryer, as opposed to on the head of the hair dryer, which gives it a more balanced, and ergonomic design, and makes the entire process more efficient.
So, how much do you have to splurge?
Starting at £299 this hair dryer is most certainly a splurge. Is it a splurge that is worth it? That’s really dependent on who you ask. The hair dryer, which will go on sale in June, is sleek, intriguing, and apparently also a very good product!
For those of us with thick manes that take close to an hour to dry with a conventional hair dryer, and much, much longer to air dry, this hair dryer is the stuff that dreams are made of.
If I had 300 quid lying around I might be very tempted to give it a try, would you?
