How to Accessorise with Jewellery – 3 Must Have Tips

Sharing is caring!

I have a post titled Can you boost your mood with clothes? Spoiler alert, I believe you can. Go read it though, as it has some really good practical tips. Anyway, whilst re-reading it I was thinking about how our accessories also play a part in how we style our outfit, and ultimately about how we feel about what we are wearing, which can in turn boost our mood. Jewellery can be tricky though, but there’s ways we can accessorise with jewellery to enhance our outfit and not detract from it. Here are a few.

Keep it to One Statement Piece

I am sure you’ve heard of this rule and it may seem generic but it is common because it works. Focusing on 1 statement piece is a good way to not allow your pieces to overpower your wardrobe. But also it’s a great way to ensure that you don’t have to own a massive amount of each piece of jewellery. You will wear only a statement necklace or earrings at a time so you don’t have to invest in too much stuff. For example, there are some beautiful and unique pieces from Pomegranate for you to consider.

I think jewelry can change an outfit more than anything else. Transformation, punch, individuality: One or all of the above are why you should wear jewelry.

Consider Your Body – Skin, Size, Shape

If you want to make the most of your investments then consider your body. Is your skin tone cool? Then white gold pairs nicely with cooler skin tones. Are you olive skinned like me? Then yellow shades of metals enhance your colouring and also look lovely against your skin tone. They say that silver is a nice skin colour for everyone and I can attest to that by looking down to at my sterling silver ring as I type this. Though, I am not sure what the difference is.

Another thing to keep in mind if you are opting to have a necklace be your statement accessory of choice is the size of your frame. Opt for a longer necklace to elongate your torso and steer away from necklaces like chokers if you have a short neck as it just emphasizes it.

Accessorise for the Occassion

I spend most of my day at a computer typing. For that reasons you will rarely see me wearing bracelets that dangle in my day to day. I tend to only wear stud earrings daily and maybe a ring or lone bracelet. If you see me going to a party, well that’s another story. I will don’t like to wear necklaces but my accessory of choice is something beautiful on my wrist. For a wedding I will frame my face by opting for big earrings. Your accessories should work for you but also be suitable for the occassion which you are wearing them for.

Set Your Own Rules

Firstly, you don’t have to follow the rules. Yes, it may sound ridiculous to write that after saying that there are tips you can follow. Case in point is that you are free to experiment with your style as you wish. Wear what you want and wear it as you please. However, if you want to find way to focus on a more minimalistic way to accessorise with jewellery then these tips should help.
