My Top Tips for Planning a Unique and Memorable Holiday

All families have individual needs when it comes to arranging a family holiday. There is never a one size fits all solution. That’s because we want to tailor our holiday experiences to best meet our needs and tastes. Are you thinking of going on holiday soon or planning your summer holiday? If so, I don’t blame you! It’s great to get away from it all every now and then.

If you’re not a fan of the British weather, chances are you need to go somewhere to fix your vitamin D deficiency but equally you may want to enjoy a family skiing holiday as it’s not that easy to do here in the UK! So, just how can you plan a unique and memorable family holiday? Today, I will share with you some super ideas to help you get started!

Determine the Holiday You Want

The first step to take is to decide what holiday you want your family to experience. Whether it’s ski or sun or even just a city break you need to determine what you’ll want to experience as that is the backbone of all of your plans. We like to involve the entire family and take into consideration the activities that the kids want to do.

Once everyone is on board you can begin the next steps.

Choose a Destination

It might sound obvious too, but right after deciding on what memorable holiday you’d like to experience you need to do is think about what part of the world you wish to visit! I’ve travelled to many beautiful places and am always looking for new destination ideas so choosing a destination is a fun part.
Being an international family means that a lot of the time we travel to see family in different parts of the world. You can still experience different holidays even if you visit the same location or region often.

Opt for All Inclusive

For our summer holidays in Spain, we usually book a hotel that offers full or half board option. We prefer half board and this ensures that our breakfast is taken care of and so is our dinner. The option to do this has made our family holidays so much more enjoyable than we have experienced in the past. Not only is the food delicious but the ease of going into the restaurant and having a buffet meal makes it a lovely indulgence.

>Being in a resort that offers a kid’s club, mini disco, and other activities makes it easy to keep the kids entertained. That way they get to have fun and so do we! Specialists like Mark Warner can offer all types of family holidays to meet your needs and are totally worth looking into.

Arrange Transport to and From the Airport

Both here in the UK and at your travel destination, it’s crucial you arrange transportation. The last thing you want to do is spend your time driving, especially when you step off a long flight with kids in tow. You could use a local taxi firm. But, if you want to holiday in style, why not arrange for chauffeur-driven limos? They aren’t as expensive as you might think. And they will make your holiday even more memorable!

Upgrade from Economy

Your first thought might be to travel economy for the best flight prices. But, what if you’re planning to fly a long distance? If that’s the case, I recommend upgrading from standard economy seating.

Many airlines offer premium economy. In a nutshell, you get more legroom and better service. If you’ve got the money, consider flying business class. One way to afford such an upgrade is to sign up to Avios (i.e. Air Miles). Spend money at certain retailers and you’ll get “points” on your account. You can then exchange those points for better seating!

Plan your Itinerary

My final tip for today is to draw up a list of attractions you want to visit. That way, you can make sure you’ve done the “tourist thing.” You can then spend the rest of your time lazing by the pool, enjoying the sunshine and peace and quiet!
