It might be a little early for some for me to be sharing a favourites post, but with Autumn having crept up on us it felt like this months favourites were right bang on time. The name of the game for me this month has been moisturising. As much grossness as the word that it’s derived from seems to inspire, it’s a quite vital part of a good beauty routine – especially as we take a turn to the colder months.
Between travelling and moving house all my toiletries have been confined to either a suitcase or a carry on. One of the best bits about settling into a new house though is getting all my beauty bits out and sorting out my beauty routine. Whether in a hotel room, or in my own place there are certain things that are staples in my bathroom and I’m quite pleased with what I currently have in my beauty arsenal this month, which is why they’ve quickly become favourites.
I’ve recently had a haircut, and the hairdresser gave me some top tips to ensure that my dull, dry hair was brought back to life – the keyword throughout was keratin. I like to give products of all price ranges a fair shot, and because of that I was quite pleased when the other half picked up some Gliss shampoo at Poundland last week. I’ve seen the Gliss range at Poundland before, and as we needed an emergency bottle of shampoo (one of the downsides of travel is losing your toiletries) I thought this was a perfect opportunity to try it out.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and so far so good. They have different products in the range, but I opted for the Total Repair shampoo and conditioner with liquid keratin, and have noticed that my hair has been feeling very soft, and overall more manageable, which is key when your hair tends to take a turn towards becoming a frizzy mess.
I have been needing to use a quite a good amount of conditioner in order to get enough lather and coverage, but at only £1 a bottle I think it’s not an issue to ensure that I get to condition all the dry bits. I will definitely repurchase, and might even try out some of the other lines in the Gliss range.
There’s no better way for me to feel as to transport myself somewhere than with scent, and as coconut is one of my favourites I picked up this shower cream with the hope that it would help me prepare for my holiday in the sun at the beginning of the month. There’s really not much to say about it, as it’s quite straightforward, but as I’m a sucker for scents this deliciously scented shower creme left a light coconut scent, but more than anything it moisturized my skin which is what I was going for.
With September being quite a transitional month weather wise protecting your skin and hair from the elements is key.
