For an exciting and affordable holiday this year, consider driving a campervan across part of the world you’ve not previously explored. Even if you don’t own a campervan, Kiravans can help out with everything you need to convert an old van into your very own mobile home in a cost-effective manner. You can pretty much arrange campervan holidays anywhere in the world, from somewhere relatively close to home or in another continent. However, for ideas about the best places to start, these are the ideal countries to visit.
The UK
There are literally hundreds if not thousands of campsites and caravan parks across the UK, offering ample choice. These family-friendly caravan parks in the UK should provide some good inspiration of where to begin when it comes to campervan holidays. Whether you’re after a destination by the sea, up in the hills or just not too far from home. They range from the very basic to more extravagant options.
France
France is a great country to go on holiday to anyway, as it has everything from warm beaches, to cultural cities and mountains. It’s not too far to travel to in a campervan either, just a short ferry journey over from the UK. There are plenty of fantastic campsites, such as ones in rural Brittany that are right by the riverside, to activity-filled sites in Dordogne that are great for travelling with teenagers. You could arrange a tour down the west coast or through the heart of the country, stopping off at different sites on the way.
Italy
Rivalling France for the best European country to take a camper or caravan is Italy. From the beautiful Lake Garda and the surrounding area to Florence and even all the way down to Sicily, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re more of a city dweller, it’s possible to find good locations on the outskirts of Venice, Rome and Turin if you do your research. This offers a good mix of countryside living in the morning and evening while spending the day taking in Italy’s famous history and culture.
USA
Unless you live in North America, it’s probably best to hire a campervan rather than take one over from Europe. Still, this is definitely worth it with the opportunity to create a road trip anywhere across this huge country. It could be the classic Route 66, or head deep into the Midwest, visit the Lakes of the Ozark or drive down the east coast; the possibilities are endless.
Asia
Ok, it’s not a country but for the really adventurous (and those with an incredibly reliable caravan) why not head out of Europe on a road trip across parts of Asia? Follow the Silk Road or explore somewhere off the beaten track, such as Kazakhstan. Depending on how much time and money you have, travelling from west to east or vice versa would be a genuine adventure of a lifetime. Just hope your campervan holds out!
Whether you’re hoping to head out on your first campervan holiday or are a seasoned veteran, all these countries offer a great place to take your campervan on holiday this year.
