It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the end of winter. But within a few weeks, we will be into spring. With the new season comes a new set of wardrobe choices. The weather will ease up and then we might even be graced with some sunshine. Therefore, our thick jumpers and winter coats will need to go back in our winter wardrobe, and we will be ready to show off our spring style.
Do you have everything you need to rock spring fashion? It might be time to head to the shops to update your wardrobe. Here are some ways you can spring your wardrobe into the next season.
Invest in some light vests
As the weather warms up, spring is a great time to start getting some light vests that you can wear with a pair of jeans or a maxi skirt. As well as being good to keep you cool when the sun hits, they are versatile to go with all your outfits. If you choose light colours, you will add a touch of fresh spring to your wardrobe. Go for a white or a cream which you can wear with everything. The good thing about vests is you can wear them underneath tops, which will safeguard you from a wardrobe mishap if you opt for something sheer or see through.
Go for a casual jacket
It’s time to say goodbye to your winter coat now that spring is truly on its way. While we will miss the thick lining and the cozy hood finally we can go for something a bit lighter. I’ll be easing into spring by opting for a lighter jacket. I love the versatility of a denim jacket and frankly, it’s been my go to for decades! Denim jackets are bang-on-trend for this season since the 80’s are going to be the height of fashion this year. To add a bit more edge to your outfit or to see you from day to night opt for the leather look. We love animals here on My Dreamality so faux is the way to go!
Purchase a good pair of shorts
With warmer weather on heading our way it’s time to get bare some leg. I am going to step out of my comfort zone this year and find a good pair of shorts. I love skirts and dresses, but shorts have never been my friend. Why is it that PS shorts just don’t fit properly? If you have any recommendations for great plus size shorts do share in the comments! I suppose the best thing about shorts is that they will transition into your summer wardrobe so you can rock them season after season.
Go for a great maxi skirt
I love the look and feel of maxi skirts! They’re perfect to take you from the workplace to the evening – change your top to dress it up or down. Maxi skirts can also work during the spring months if you pair them with a light jacket, and some sandals on the odd day proper warm day out. The length helps your legs get to stay covered up during the spring season and protects if you a chilly rainfall shall commence.
Opt for a lightweight cardigan
If cardigans are your thing then opt for a thinner one. All those heavy cardigans and jumpers from winter will leave you boiling this season so a lightweight cardigan that you can just put on over your short sleeved top will work perfectly. For one thing, it will keep your arms warm when the weather gets cold, and it will help to complete your outfit during the spring months.
Choose some light jeans
Darker coloured jeans tend to be my staple no matter what the season but lighter coloured jeans are currently all the rage. A light blue which will be perfect for the spring months. Slim style or even high-waisted jeans are bang on trend too. You can pair these with a short sleeved top and sunnies and never go wrong.
My best tip and one that rings true for most of us is to stick to what works for you. Whether that be what fits your body, what makes you feel comfortable, or what falls in line with your personal choices. Fashion is meant to be fun and following “rules” is a no-no! Stick to what makes you feel good both inside and out.
