If being active with lots of travel, walking and visiting various places is what you love to do when you’re on holiday then go for it. But for others, like me, something more relaxing may be on the cards. Especially if really getting into a relaxed state of mind even helps create a more relaxed ‘you’ when you return! Just check out these fantastic hammocks and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
So, with “R n R” in mind, what could be better than a stunning tropical paradise? White sandy beaches, blue skies and seas, palm trees and gorgeous weather- absolute bliss. If this sounds like your kind of getaway, here are some destinations to consider.
Tropical Paradises – The Bahamas
When you think of the Bahamas no doubt you’ll be dreaming of beautiful beaches, but there’s so more to it than that. There are incredible botanical gardens you can wander around, historical chapel ruins, you can swim with dolphins and visit conservation centres. Or if you want to lounge on the beach, go snorkelling to see all the wonderful species of fish, eat delicious foods and try your hand at various water sports. All this and more is available to you as well.
The Bahamas are a collection of North American islands located in the Atlantic Ocean situated between Miami and Cuba. The weather is gorgeous, the scenery is stunning and if you’re after a tropical beach holiday- this is the place for a relaxing getaway!
The United States of America
The land of the free might not be the first place you think about when it comes to tropical getaways. But there are plenty of fantastic destinations where you can get your fill of sun, sea, sand and beautiful weather. South Carolina, for example, offers the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort where you’re a few steps away from the ocean. The hot and humid weather reaches scorching temperatures throughout the summer. So it’s perfect if you want to soak up some sun.
You also have islands that are off the mainland but part of US territory including Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands amongst others. If you’re American you can visit these places without a passport, but still get the feeling that you’re jetting off somewhere really special and tropical.
The Maldives
Situated in the Indian Ocean, off Sri Lanka is the stunning Maldive Islands. Talk about amazing tropical paradises! You can enjoy snorkelling, scuba diving, and watersports with the opportunity to swim with sharks and dolphins. You could take in the magnificent reefs with their stunning blue waters and get an up close appreciation of the importance of Ocean Sustainability. There are all kinds of fascinating plants and animals. There are museums, mosques, excursions to uninhabited islands and much more in this tropical nation.
It’s a picture-perfect destination. Although if you’re non- Muslim any wedding you have here won’t be seen as legally binding. However, it makes a great place for a honeymoon or just a romantic getaway in general, with lots of things targeted to couples.
Are you planning on jetting off to one of these tropical paradises, or any others, this year?
