October brings us crisper air, falling leaves, and Blogtober! There are many bloggers that take part in this writing challenge annually, and for me, even though I have been a blogger for 15 years (I know, right?!) I am taking it on for the first time. Here’s to hoping I can complete it and get my creative writing juices flowing again.

Blogtober 2025 – What am I Letting go of This Season
With the changes of the seasons many of us seem to want to make changes ourselves. Many times the changes that we want to make include changes where we let go of things that no longer serve us. That can be clutter, bad relationships, or even bad habits. Sometimes though, there are things that we want to get rid of that are more internalised and we don’t really share with the outside world. In this post, I wanted to share with you a litle bit of what I am planning on letting go of this season. Let’s call it a mixed-bag of practical, spiritual, and personal things that I am letting go of this season.
Letting go of Doubt
This is a huge one! I have been in such a strange state, and I have doubted myself in so many areas. I have taken up a “day job” that I am excelling at, which has led me to doubt myself as writer, despite being a pro-blogger for over a decade. That’s really one of the reasons that I decided to take on Blogtober this year. I am a bit rusty, I can feel that. I can read it, too. But it’s ok, as I know I just need to flex the writing muscle again to be able to feel comfortable in my own writing space.
Time to let go of expectations
There are always so many expectations that we place on ourselves and on others. One of the things that I am letting go of is the expectation of anything or anyone, really. My stress levels have been through the roof lately, and part of that is because I have been expecting for life to fall into place just right. I should know that isn’t ever the case. But one of the things that I really am going to focus on, is to let go of my expectations of people and let things just be. If you allow others to show you who they are by their natural actions you can remove expectations of who they should be and how they should act, and have genuine relationships with people who you truly align with.
Let go of anything that doesn’t make life better

This can encompass so much and instead of going on about the big picture, I am going to focus on specific things that I want to work on and let go of this season that don’t make my life better;
- Clutter
- Puzzles with missing pieces, or anything else that is incomplete for that matter
- Clothes that I don’t like or are no longer my style
- Items that have been handed down to me that I don’t particularly like
- Digital clutter (the irony of a VA who organises other’s email accounts but neglects mine!)
And there you go! Thank you for reading and getting re-acquainted with me. If you’re a long-time reader then you’ll know that I have been very absent due to many reasons, but I am trying to get closer to you again, and also, getting more in tune with myself.
