When you’re trying to get more creative, it’s often hard to find that thing that will make you tap into the creative side of your brain. Often we are way too distracted from YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and the one thousand three hundred and fifty-five email notifications we get daily.
But, some of the busiest people in the world are some of the most creative individuals as well. How do they do it? Indeed there’s some kind of secret.
Well, there is. It’s not really a secret, though, it’s more of what you do on a daily basis. Your day-to-day can be the difference between being very creative and feeling burnt out.
So, how do they do it? What do creative people do differently? Fret not, that’s what we’re here to talk about. Now, without spending any more time on the intro, let’s get started with what you can do to be more creative.
Try and show your true personality through the way you dress
People have used clothes to express how they feel and who they are for hundreds of years. It’s only normal for us to use clothes to show our true selves.
Whether you’ll use hydro flask stickers, or paint your clothes, it really doesn’t matter. In fact, you don’t even have to do something artsy to your clothes. You can simply show your true character through fit and colors.
Wear what makes you feel truly you. If you’ve never attempted to find your true style, it can feel somewhat strange at first. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a shot.
Try, mix and match different style until you find something that makes you stand out and feel unique.
Drawing and painting are an awesome way to tap in your creative side
This should come to no surprise. Painting, drawing or even simple doodling can unleash your creativity in ways you’ve never imagined.
If you think about it, you’ve been doodling ever since you were in high school. It was the best way to make time pass and go through boring classes.
And if you aren’t a particularly good painter, that’s not the point here. The goal is to get your brain thinking in a more creative way. Grab a pen, a piece of paper and just start drawing something.
Welcome boredom instead of running away from it.
And while we’re on the topic of drawing and using the skill to get through the boring classes at school, let’s talk about another superweapon that can help you become more creative — boredom.
What? But isn’t creativity the exact opposite of boredom?
Well, it is, but sometimes the exact opposite can help you unlock what you’ve never expected. Embrace boredom, don’t run away from it. In fact, look for a way to get boring on purpose. Only once you can catch up with your thoughts, you can truly start thinking creatively.
Hitting an old-school hard workout will do more for your creativity than you can imagine.
And if all else fails, go and run a few miles, do a couple of push-ups, get that blood moving to discover your creative side. We’re all living our lives sitting around way too much.
In fact, try and squeeze at least three workouts per week. This way, you’ll ensure you get enough time on your feet, letting your brain rest and just focusing on getting through the workout.
