Whether you prefer a signature fragrance that makes you instantly recognisable as you walk in a room or you prefer to have several different perfumes so that you can choose the one that suits your mood or lifts it, with summer fast approaching, now is the time to browse the perfume counters and find a beautiful new fragrance that will quickly become your favourite fragrances for summer.
Certainly with lovely summery days now with us, you may well want to introduce a fresh new fragrance to enjoy wearing with your summer clothes. Make sure that you store your new perfume carefully as perfumes do not like warm rooms or sunshine! Best to keep your lovely new perfume in its original box and pop this somewhere cool and dry like on a wardrobe shelf.
There are a few great tricks to ensure that you smell great for longer! The first is to apply a dab or spritz of fragrance to your pulse points as these are the points on your body that warm the fragrance so it develops.
The perfect time to apply perfume is after you have had a shower. Dry yourself with a towel, apply a tiny amount of unperfumed moisturiser to your pulse points as this will help ‘lock the perfume in’. Apply your perfume, allow to dry for a few moments and then get dressed. If your bottle of perfume is too large to pop in your handbag, moisten a couple of cotton make-up pads with perfume and pop them into a small sealable plastic bag to use for a quick ‘freshen up’ during the day.
There are certainly some lovely fragrances for summer to try and many of them are light and fresh – perfect for this time of year. Why not give yourself plenty of time to test some of the names that are currently attracting attention?

Jo Malone’s London Lime
This fragrance is light and zesty as it combines the fragrances of fresh lime and mandarin.
Tom Ford’s Black Orchid.
This fragrance is in no way a summer fragrance but it is now an iconic perfume instantly recognised everywhere and enjoying almost cult status! Warm incense and spices mixed with vanilla and heady patchouli ensure that this perfume will get you noticed and earn you plenty of compliments.
Maison Margiela
You will have seen the beautiful ads and probably can’t wait to smell this fragrance! You will be delighted with its light fresh floral fragrance and it will make you think of enjoying a glass of Pimms with some strawberries and cream!

Mark Jacobs – Daisy
Certainly sounds summery and looks the part too, in a pale pink bottle with large glass stopper that it decorated with larger than life pink daisies! If you like the smell of fresh peaches, you will definitely love this fragrance.
Glossier You
Packaged in a very cleverly shaped bottle that is perfect to hold, Gossier is an interesting and pleasing fragrance. It is subtle, comforting and strangely familiar – not unlike freshly washed linen.
Tiffany & Co.
This name immediately makes you think of glistening diamonds and this perfume really does sparkle! It is clean, with fresh citrus top notes, iris and mandarin middle notes and a lovely powdery base note with just a hint of musk- this perfume really makes you feel good when you wear it.
Chloé Signature
This is bound to be popular this summer as it has lovely flowery notes just like a fresh bouquet of flowers and at its heart is mellow creamy amber. This fragrance is light but exceptionally long-lasting and is perfect for all occasions both during the day and in the evening.
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
Presented in a stylish pale pink bottle, this gorgeous fragrance is a blend of roses, jasmine and heady patchouli and smells so good you will be asked numerous times what perfume you are wearing – bound to make you feel great! Flowerbomb definitely gets my vote for summer 2020!
So, there you have it! These are just some of my favourite fragrances for summer and they are definitely worth adding to your perfume collection.
