The Ultimate Guide to Marketing to Gen Z

Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millenials, and the list goes on. These demographic cohorts are an important way to organise people from different generations. Each group defines our collective experiences. I am part of the “millennials” – a generation whose date ranges tend to be pretty vague. Some say a millennial is someone born between the 1980’s and either the mid-1990’s or early 2000’s. Those born between the mid-1990’s to the mid-2000’s are highly comfortable with using the internet and social media – they have been doing it pretty much all their lives. So what do the Gen Z’ers bring to the table and how can you connect with them as consumers?

It’s said that by 2020 Gen Z will be expected to account for 40% of all consumers! And to reach them it takes a new way of thinking about things. Did you know that Gen Z’ers favourite platform is YouTube, followed by Instagram and then Snapchat? Gen Z like their videos!
