The New Year is usually a time when many of us make resolutions. From getting fit and focusing on our waistline to getting our homes organised to becoming more financially fit. We all try and make a resolution but sadly, most of us tend not to see them through. One of the things that you may not think of is giving your romantic life an overhaul for the New Year. But if you’re looking for love you should! Taking a fresh start with dating can give you the perspective to make sure that you make changes that will stick and get you the romantic outcome you are hoping for.
Fresh Start – Out With the Old
One of the mistakes that is most commonly made is keeping old flames on the backburner. I was guilty of this too. It may be tempting to keep ex’s around just in case, but that rarely ends well. The reality is that if things just didn’t work out it is quite rare for it to have been a case of bad timing. It’s tempting to keep up with them on social media as well, but it’s just not a good thing. Going back to someone because you are bored or lonely isn’t the best way to set yourself up for a positive year of dating.
Get rid of all those old contacts, unfollow them on social media, and focus your efforts on finding someone new. This is one of the only times that recycling is a definite no-no!
Keep in Shape for a fresh start
Keeping in shape, both physically and mentally, is a great way to feel good about yourself. And self-confidence is so helpful when you’re looking to improve your romantic life. Eat healthily, get enough sleep, and do your fair share of healthy exercise. And you don’t have to join a gym to achieve this. Exercising is even possible in the comfort of your own home. Home exercise programs can be a great way to keep in shape. And there is plenty of online advice available, such as, for example finding out the important differences between P90X vs Insanity.
Find New Ways of Meeting People
They say that insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results and that can be translated into dating too. If you are looking for love and find yourself with the same types of people and in the same types of relationships then somethings gotta give. In this case, that also translates not only to the types of people that you meet but how you meet them. If you only date people from work (a big no-no if you ask me) or solely those from your gym, then why not consider other ways of meeting people, which takes me to my next point.
If you only date people from work (a big no-no if you ask me) or solely those from your gym, then why not consider other ways of meeting people. And, when you do go and meet these people, why not try something new for the date? For example, if you’re nervous about making a good impression, you could add some extra human pheromones onto your skin in order to send subtle signals to your date and put yourself in the best light possible. Speaking of something new, this brings me to my next point.
Revamp Your Online Dating Profile
If you’re not dating online then you need to really consider it. Whether that be via an app or a typical dating profile, it’s a way to be more specific about your likes and dislikes. Setting up a dating profile on a site that is specific to what you’re looking for can give you better outcomes of finding what it is you want. If you’re already online dating then why not consider clearing out the cobwebs and giving your profile a revamp?
Your online dating profile is essentially a way to sell yourself, in the most positive of ways, and if people aren’t buying then you should definitely overhaul your profile.
Instead of focusing on new year resolutions why not just focus on ways to take a fresh start with dating and make sure that next year is one full of love and promise.
